Around Doha

So right before we left Doha we went around and took in the sights while capturing some pictures.
These are some of the many fishing, Dhow and other boats along the Corniche.

Look at the school of fish.

A view of an area on the Corniche.
The Corniche a long walking area on the harbor and it is lined with tons of palm trees and greenery.

A view of the Islamic Cultural Center / Fanar.
This located right near the Souq Waquif and near the area called the Fabric Souq

I always got a kick out of the little characters around town that were traffic warnings or reminders.

I took the following pictures as we were driving along the Corniche.
It is a really pretty drive and easy when it is the weekend.

 Doha Skyline

One of the few parks in Doha, Qatar located on the Corniche

 This is the Amir's Offices

Here is Ric's Kitchen and this was the one place where we could go and get an American style Breakfast and other yummys. It was a great place to go on the weekend and you could go there during Ramadan but it felt like we were trying to sneak in to a secret society - We had to knock on the door and be let in to the building while they locked us inside. All food was for take-out only but it was still tasty!

I thought this was interesting - These were our water tanks for the apartment complex.

Our New Place Here in Doha

We have been asking to move to a bigger place since before Xavier was born. Finally around the new year we got the go ahead, YAY! We moved from a two bedroom on the fourth floor of an apartment complex with no place to walk the dogs and constantly having to get things fixed even though it was not very old. We were close to things but without a lot of light coming in and the baby stuff; we started to full suffocated.

So we moved across town with some help from some friends, some guys and a truck and our muscles. We live close to a good grocery store and our favorite delivery food. It is a closed complex with 36 flats and we live on the second floor.

This is our building: you go through the door, up the stairs and we are the flat on the left. Those windows are the second bedroom and the master bedroom. Xavier's bedroom is inside the opening.

'

Look flowers, trees and bushes! YAY! This is the great courtyard where we can walk with Xavier and the dogs. It is nice to be able to walk them without dodging cars. They can still chase cats and now they try to chase the pidgins on the roof, HAHA!

This is the view to the left of our place. The dogs and I love to walk this way. That is one of three mosques in the area; yes I did say three. We can clearly hear all five of the call to prayers. I hope to put up a video to share the experience with those that have never heard it before.

This is from the other side of the courtyard. Our place is all the way down on the left side.

I love looking at these flowers when we go on our walk.

 More Pretty Flowers

When you walk into our place this is the entry way. Sadie wanted to be in the picture too!

The view of the front door and the other side of the entry way.
I am working on our command center on the right- lots of work to make it fully useful.

If you take the hallway to the left the first door on the left is Xavier's room. You can't judge decoration (it lacks I know) as they really don't have anything and I had to bring everything from the US.

This is the beautiful sign Sue made for little Xavier! We love it! It has Sadie and Gus in it too!

Here is a panaromic shot of his room. I was trying out the fancy feature on the new camera.

This is the left side of the room once you walk in the room. Xavier is checking out the books!

I loved the reusable wall decals we picked up from BabiesRus when we were home.

Finally this is the right side of the room.

Just past Xavier's room is another bedroom and we have all my crafts in there. This is the before picture.

Then to the right of that bedroom is the Master bedroom.

When you turn right from the entry way you pass the third bathroom and the laundry room
before you get to the kitchen.

The room straight to the right off the entryway is the living room.

Here is a look at the room when we moved in. I thought it had a weird configuration and didn't work for us.

The view from the doorway.

The view from the other side of the room standing by the patio.

This is our view from the window. Not much to look at but it is great to open a window and get a breeze.

Our little patio with our little grill.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of our new place. Remember to check out some of the other posts here at
